Dear Community Friends:
Plans for the 2012 Galveston Firefighters Children’s Mardi Gras Parade are underway!
This event attracts hundreds of families who are treated to a fun filled afternoon of educational information, children’s parade activities and entertainment. This year's theme is "A Salute to Children’s Literature”. Local public service programs and community organizations will be on hand to offer free reading program and literacy information. The 2012 parade is scheduled for Sunday, February 19, 2012 at 2 p.m. starting from 27th Street and Seawall Boulevard and concluding at 45th and Seawall on Galveston Island.
Historically, Galveston and Houston community organizations and businesses have actively participated in and contributed to this event. This year marks the eighth anniversary, and we want to continue and improve on the success of previous years. We cannot do this without your collaboration and support in this unique and fun experience inspiring children to love books and become lifelong readers.
Please accept this letter as your invitation to be involved in this community project. There are several ways to participate:
- Sponsorship
- Underwriting (floats, throws, riders, bands)
- Donation
- Volunteer
Your sponsorship will be recognized before and during the event. The top five sponsors will receive logo recognition on the website and listed on the official parade banner. In addition, sponsors who contribute $1000 and above may enter a float in the parade and receive VIP guest passes to a parade appreciation dinner.
The Galveston Firefighters Children’s Mardi Gras Parade is a private, not-for-profit organization dedicated to children and their opportunity to participate in Galveston Island's culturally rich annual Mardi Gras. The Firefighters Children’s Mardi Gras Parade organization maintains a 501 (C) (3) status and contributions are tax deductible to the fullest extent allowed by law. If you would like to participate in this event, please complete and return participation form with your contribution or donations may be submitted online.
